What happened at the fairness hearing

The fairness hearing gave the Court a chance to hear views about whether the settlement was fair, reasonable, and adequate. A class member did not have to attend. A class member who stayed in the class could ask to speak.

The Court considered the settlement and granted final approval on November 5, 2015. The final approval order is part of the public record.

After final approval

The settlement materials described a payment process that would follow final approval and any appeals. Approved claimants were told to expect a check in the mail, and the notice asked for patience because the process would take time.

Checks would expire 90 days after they were issued. A person with a question about a check or a mailing address should contact the settlement administrator.
