United States District Court Western District of Pennsylvania

Final approval granted November 5, 2015

Yencha v. ZeoBIT LLC MacKeeper settlement information
Docket 2:14 cv 00578 JFC Claim period closed

A court supervised settlement

The MacKeeper settlement, explained clearly.

A federal court approved a class action settlement with ZeoBIT LLC over MacKeeper software. This site explains who the settlement covered, what class members could do, and where the official record lives.

The case

What the lawsuit was about

MacKeeper was sold by ZeoBIT as a tool for Apple computers. The lawsuit claimed that ZeoBIT promoted the software with promises about speed, performance, and security that the product could not fully keep.

The plaintiff also raised contract, fraud, and Pennsylvania consumer protection claims. ZeoBIT denied the claims and maintained that its conduct was lawful. The parties settled the case instead of continuing to trial.

A settlement resolves a dispute under court supervision. It is not a ruling that either side was right or wrong.

Why this site exists

The court authorized a notice to help people understand the settlement and their choices. This redesign presents that information in a new format. Official filings are held by the Court.

Who was covered

The settlement class

The settlement class included MacKeeper buyers who lived in the United States or any U.S. territory and made the purchase on or before July 8, 2015. People who asked to be excluded from the class are not included.

Settlement fund

The fund was set aside for valid claims, administration costs, any fee award, and any service award approved by the Court.
